How does it work?
Our first session will be your intake, where we talk about what is bringing you in to therapy; the kinds of issues you are facing right now, the kinds of symptoms you are experiencing, the kind of help and support you would like, and what kind of results you are looking for. We will make a plan together that meets your needs and helps and supports you in the way that you want and need.
Right now, due to the Corona Virus, all of our meetings will be via tele-health at this time (as of April 2020). We will set up a mutually convenient time for your appointment. I will send you a link to a safe and secure video platform where we can connect for your appointment.
Many people find that they enjoy coming to therapy as it is a safe space to discuss their challenges with a neutral third party. Many people find it a relief to be able to share thoughts and feelings that they might not feel comfortable sharing with friends or family members. People often find that by talking about their thoughts and feelings with another person, they get some clarity around what they think and feel, and how they can best be supported and what they need in order to move forward.
Some people find they need some help and support to unpack their emotional baggage from the past. It can be comforting to have a trusted person with you to help you “unpack” your baggage. Some people come to therapy to get help and support setting some boundaries in their relationships. Sometimes it just helps to know your feelings can be validated.
